Monterey

After wanting to go to Monterey for months, we finally decided to take a day and do it. We didn't really take much time to plan what we were going to do, so we just drove toward the water.

There's a long trail there that goes along the shore and to the piers. The main pier had some really cute shops and seafood restaurants, and at the end you can look out at the boats and sea life.

We got a kick out of walking around and looking at all the sailboats, sea lions, and otters.

The path keeps going down to a fishing/boating pier that is always covered with sea lions. They were laying all over the place next to it, and at the end there is a fenced off area just for them to lay on.

We spent a decent amount of time walking around. Poor Henry must've been pretty tired to fall asleep like this!

After walking until the kids were worn out and grouchy, we took a little stop at Dennis the Menace Park to let them run around for a while. Then we headed over to Pebble Beach.

There are a bunch of little stops all along 17-mile drive, and we all enjoyed getting out to check out the beach and the seals.

We didn't get out to see everything because the twins fell asleep, but it was a gorgeous drive, and Adam and I took turns seeing some of them by ourselves.

On the way home, we stopped at a little Thai restaurant to get some dinner with my Uncle Dave. He and Will had bonded while he was staying with my parents, so it was nice to be able to stop and visit him.
